This means that organizations rely too much on the relatively static and generic knowledge within products (e.g. virus scanners, vuln erability scanners, intrusion detection systems, application firewall, and so on). The knowledge-based approach is too static and we need to complement it with more adaptable approach based on cyber intelligence. As a result, to overcome this anti-pattern, organizations must decide what cyber intelligence to collect and how to use it. Besides, we also have to know the latest generation of attacks, Advanced Persistent Threat (APTs). APTs target people to trick them into opening malware-infected email attachments or to visit Web pages that exploit browser or plug-in vulnerabilities. For these vulnerabilities, the author demonstrates some strategies and tools against attackers. They are threat awareness, preparedness, and situational awareness. If that child does not know how to deal with his or her own internal workings, there is going to be much difficulty trying to deal with a personal accommodation. The same thing goes with assimilation. If a child does not know how to deal with his or her external environment, there is going to be difficulty changing them and dealing with assimilation. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;Dealing with the Developmental Theory (Stage Theory), a child may have the same dysfunction and not be able to move up the ladder of stages. There are those rare cases where a child may be stuck at one stage, or a child may not develop everything he or she needs to move on. A. Angels Essay - 5539 Words

Angels An angel is a pure spirit created by God. The Old Testament theology included the belief in angels: the name applied to certain spiritual beings or intelligences of heavenly residence, employed by God as the ministers of His will. HISTORY Are Angels ambassadors sent from God to guide us, protect us or bring messages from heaven? The word angel comes from the Greek word angelos which means messenger. The Bible says that God has appointed many angels to those who love God and call to Him, Psalms 91:11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. Matthew 1:20-24 Dionysius, a 5th or 6th century writer gives us the hierarchical order of the angels. The first group is the seraphim, cherubim and thrones. The word seraphim (singular is saraph) is taken from the fiery imagery often associated with the Presence of God-- Ezek. 1:27. Cherubim are represented as guardians with many wings. Thrones have been depicted wearing stoles and kneeling before God Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew . Isaiah 6:2 So He drove out the man; and placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. Gen. 3:24 The 2nd group is composed of dominations, virtues and powers. Each group is associated with specific symbols. The dominations held scepters and wore crowns. Analysis Of Ma Rainey s Black Bottom By August Wilson

Characters of their Music Blues and jazz music, though they both have great roots in African American history, are undeniably different forms of expressing feelings that can be played using the same instruments. In the text, Ma’ Rainey’s Black Bottom by August Wilson, there is a great conflict between one of the main characters, Levee, and the band he is to play with. His style of musical expression is Jazz, but he is playing in a blues band. Toledo and Levee are the two main characters used to convey the personification of blues and jazz music, respectively, throughout the play. Before considering how Toledo and Levee act as a symbol for these different styles of music, both blues and jazz must be covered. Blues music made its start†¦show more content†¦(As noted in the last line in the song – â€Å"Days are lonesome, nights are so long/I m a good gal, but I just been treated wrong† (Smith, 1926).) The character Toledo in Ma’ Rainey’s Black Bottom showed the most likeness towards blues when compared as a style of music. Just as blues has its own distinct style and message, jazz also has its own message and way to deliver it. Jazz music made its debut around the turn of the 20th century in New Orleans, Louisiana. It uses many similar instruments as blues, but the style is more syncopated like a fast-paced skipping heartbeat upon a swinging rhythm. Jazz uses not only vocal techniques to tell the story, but also incorporates improvisation as well. Jazz singers also introduced a style called scat singing into their music to pull the improvisational feel of the brass and woodwind instruments. Also, contrary to blues’ general tone being about the past and moving forward, jazz’s general tone is about lust, relaxation, reality, having fun, and sometimes even violence. The main form of storytelling in jazz is the instruments. Duke Ellington’s â€Å"Take the A Train† starts the story with brass and woodwinds imitating the sounds a train makes while taking off to set the tone of the song (Ellington, 1939). Improvisation is a core part of jazz that is often misunderstood. Paper On The Book, Fences Essay Example For Students

Paper On The Book, Fences Essay Essay On Fences We all lead lives filled with anxiety over certain issues, and with dread of the When the issue comes up of Cory having a bright future ahead of him if he joins the football team, Troy refuses to allow him. The root of this decision lies in his own experience of not being allowed to join the baseball team due to the racial prejudices of his time. He does not realize that times have changed and because of his own past, he ruins his sons life too. His wife, Rose, also plays a big part in the way the story develops. Troy has an affair with another woman called Alberta. When Rose finds out about the affair, she is devastated. In this situation we find out what her own hopes and dreams were. All she wanted was a happy home and family life because of her unstable past. The theme of this story is how a black family, in the late fifties to early sixties, faces the problems that many families are faced with, but in their own unique ways. This theme can be traced and observed through the insecurities and resulting behaviors of the two main characters, Troy and Rose Maxson. The main character of this play, Troy Maxson, considers death to be a part of the baseball game of life. In one part of the book he gives a description of how death came to him when he was in the hospital, and he told it to return another time. Death is one of his main insecurities. As he gets older he feels death coming closer and closer. It seems as if, just to hold death in abeyance by trying to feel young again, he has an affair with this other woman named Alberta. Death strikes closer to home base for Troy, when his mistress dies while giving birth to a baby girl. At this point in the book he makes a deal with death. He says to it, Aint nobody else got nothing to do with this. This is between you and me. Man to man. You stay on the other side of that fence until you ready for me. (page 77). The fence is very symbolic in this situation. It symbolizes his insecurity about death and how he has put up these imaginary fences for protection. It leaves us with a very clear image of this agressive man who fears nothing in life, except death. Roses childhood was also filled with uncertainity. Her father was a drifter who went from place to place starting a new family every where he went, so that it got to the point where each of her step brothers and sisters had a different mother. This was the basis for her insecurity and possessiveness of her own family. In her case also, the fence was symbolic. It stood for her need to hold on to her husband, son, and her comfortable home life. For both Troy and Rose, the turning point in their lives comes when Rose is informed about the existence of another woman in Troys life. Even Troys friend, Bono, tries to warn Troy about the risk he is taking by seeing this other woman. Bono tries to explain Roses personality to Troy by saying, Some people build fences to keep people outand other people build fences to keep people in. Sex Education: Does it Really Work? Essay Rose wants to hold on to you all. she loves you. (page 61). She wants to hold on to the happy and loving family life she has, and the fence metaphorically illustrates a way of holding on. In the case of both the characters, Rose and Troy, what influences their attitudes is the way they were in their past. Troy was refused the chance to join the baseball team in his youth, so he feels that his son also should not get the opportunity. Troy was ignored by his father when he was young, so instead of ignoring his son, Troy is overly critical of him. He is critical to the point of inciting an act of disrespect from Cory. Cory has reached the point where he even has the audacity to say .

List Of Events Contributing To The Liquidation And The Failure Of Corporate Governance HIH Insurance Following events have led the company to go for liquidation: The company has acquired the business of the FAI Insurance which is involved in the more risky business of the insurance. The company has incurred the considerable damage claims. Second risky area was the film financing which again have led the company to incur losses of hundred million dollar over the year. Due to the insurance business in the field of natural disasters, the company has again incurred the quantum loss from the typhoon which has come at Florida. Due to sudden change in the compensation claims to be paid to the workers working in different industry of California, the company is required to incur big amount as losses. The acquisition of business of FAI Insurance Company has been made without conducting the due diligence of the company and also without the consent of the board of directors of the company (Mak, Deo and Cooper, 2005 and Mirshekary, Yaftian, and Cross, 2005). One Tel Company Due to the following the company has incurred the huge losses, The company has been reporting the higher revenue and deferring its expenses over the next three years. This is against the accounting standards and the accounting policies uniformly considered by every company across the globe. The companys expansion in other ventures and the countries without having the due diligence or the market survey whether the company will have profits from the ventures. Increase in the compensation paid to the key managerial personnel of the company regardless of the fact that the company is entering into the losses and the stock price has considerably fallen to sixteen cents. The company has charged one seventh of the purchase price from the customers in the consideration that the company will be able to cover the cost of purchase in the future periods to the maximum of seven months but the same have not happened as though by the company. Instead of recovering the purchase cost the company was not even able to run its daily expenses and thus led itself into the cash flow problem. In actual, the company has purchased the product as the bundled service on the customer basis at Australian dollar 350. The company has charged one seventh of purchase price which is 50 dollar and the company has significantly suffered cash problem and sooner has turned into company with huge obligations. The audit firm employed by the company is very unethical in its professional conduct as they are certifying the financial statements without considering the results of various flaws like deferring of expenses, etc. Unethical conduct of the management of the company as no management member has taken the stand to consider the cash problem and other unprofitable ventures. (Reza, 2011). ABC Learning - Due to the following the company has incurred the huge losses: Wrong accounting of the Childcare Licenses and intangible assets like Goodwill. The company has made the valuation by $2.4 billion of the licenses and other intangibles and has booked the profit accordingly and has charged the impairment of only $8.4 million. The future cash flows taken for valuation of the intangibles were found wrong which has resulted the company to run in losses as profits has been decreased by 42%. The company has the high debts of $1.8 billion which the company was unable to pay due to employee cost and other related costs. It has been argued by the Community of Child Care of New South Wales that the company has made the profits on the premise of the low staff wages and other cost cutting which has resulted in the low quality of education and care to the children. Ethics And Financial Stress HIH Insurance The company has acquired the FAI Insurance without the consent of the Board of Directors and also immediately Winterthur has sold his shares and resigned from the company. It shows that the company has bad corporate governance. The above phrase is also solicited from the fact that the company has begun entering into the more risky areas like natural disasters, marine and the film financing insurances. The company has not carried out any due diligence before the acquisition and there has been continuous change in the key managerial personnel (Jiangbo, 2003). Mr Ray Williams was held with three charges one for not serving the duties and the responsibilities of the directors, second for issuing the prospectus with material omission and third for overstating the profits for the Financial Year 1998-99 in the Annual Report of the company One Tel Company The company has violated the accounting rules and the accounting policies and thus it has affected the ethics in compliance. The pricing strategy adopted by the company was very weak and none of the directors have represented the fact that the company will soon fail because of the loss of the income and thus there will be liquidity problem. It depicts that the ethics in business has also not been followed. In relation to the operation of the other companies, the management of the company has not monitored the financial performance of the company and also has not addressed which are the high risky areas for the companies (Brown and Caylor, 2009). ABC Learning The accounting policy adopted for the accounting of intangibles was the major flaw and has resulted in the accounting fraud. It depicts that the companys ethics in the financial accounting is very weak and can be easily modified and adapted according to the needs of the business of the company (Morey, Gottesman, Baker and Godridge, 2009). Second ethics is related to the deliverance of the services to the customers. The company has been fighting against many suits that have been filed by the customers and the government regarding the services provided. Liabilities Due to the bad working of the corporate governance, the companies have suffered huge losses. The losses are not only in terms of the money terms but also in the terms of the management failure. The losses are majorly the liabilities that the company has undertaken without proper analysis and the due diligence. All the companies have made an effective decision whether it is HIH Insurance while acquiring the business of Fai Insurance or One Tel Company while acquiring licenses at increased price or ABC Learning while opening centre at United Kingdom. Recommendation It has been analysed that all the three companies have not went for liquidation suddenly; it has been the years process which has been accumulating and after the saturation, the company has been liquidated. The company has been working very negligently for many years. On the basis of the analysis, every company shall have proper management which can take decision in the interest of the shareholders and the stakeholders of the company. Conclusion The three companies have gone for liquidation of the company. This has spread the wave across the world in the banking industry and the insurance. The major cause for all the three companies for liquidation is the poor corporate governance practices and the failure to identify the risk before its occurrence and the failure to consider the financial position of the company on the regular intervals. In order to conclude, the company shall strive for the stakeholders and the shareholders of the company. References Avison, D. (2012): IT Failure and the Collapse of One.Tel in Traunmuller, R.
